Ephedrine case: Assets of Lashari to be seized

RAWALPINDI: The Control of Narcotics Substances Court has ordered the seizer of assets belonging to former Health Secretary Khushnood Lashari and three other owners of pharmaceutical companies in the Ephedrine case.

During proceedings of the case, the court ordered the seizure of Lashari and others assets over the failure to submit details of their assets.

The account details of former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s family were also submitted in the court. The counsel for Ali Musa Gilani informed the court that his client had Rs 1.53 million in his account while Abdul Qadir Gilani had Rs 444,138. Fouzia Gilani’s bank account had Rs 27,226.

Former Health Minister Makhdoom Shahbuddin also submitted details of his assets and informed the court that his source of income was agricultural land inherited from ancestors.

The hearing of the case has been adjourned till 30 July.
