Govt., Taliban committees leave for NWA for talks with Taliban Shura

The government committee and the Taliban liaison committee left here for North Waziristan for holding talks with the Taliban Shura, Geo News reported.

Sources said that the government committee members along with the Taliban liaison committee chief Maulana Samiul Huque left here in a helicopter, while Maulana Yusuf Shah and other members of Taliban liaison committee left from Peshawar for North Waziristan.

The government committee comprises of Habibullah Khattak, Arbab Arif, Fawad Hassan Fawad and Rustam Shah Mohmand. Federal Secretary Habibullah Khattak is leading the government committee, while Taliban liaison committee led by Maulana Samiul Huqe.

The venue of the meeting has been kept secret, but sources said it would be held at some place in Mirali. The government committee insisting holding talks at Scouts Headquarter.

It may be recalled that the first direct meeting between the government appointed negotiating committee and the Taliban Shura scheduled yesterday was deferred as the weather was found not suitable for traveling in a helicopter to North Waziristan.
