Imam Karamat steer Pakistan to U-19 World Cup quarters
Source: Geo News | 20-02-2014

Opener Imam ul Haq cracked century and Karamat Ali grabbed five wicket as the pair guided Pakistan in the quarter finals of ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup when they overwhelmed Scotland by 136 runs at ICC Academy Ground Dubai on Wednesday.

Leg spinner Karamat captured five wickets for 36 runs in 7.5 overs as Scotland crashed for 162 in 40th over.

Andrew Umeed showed any resistance with a defiant 65 in 100 balls with five boundaries.

Earlier batting first, Pakistan raised a healthy 308 for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs.

Imam-ul-Haq slammed 137-ball 133 with 13 hits to the boundary and one over it while Hasan Raza hit three fours in his steady 65.

After captain Sami Aslam went for three, Imam and Hasan put on 167 run for the second wicket to frustrate Scotish bowling.

Summarized scores:

Pakistan U-19: 308-7 in 50 overs (Imam-ul-Haq 133, Hasan Raza 57, Saud Shakeel 34; Chris Sole 3-69, Main 2-89)

Scotland U-19: 162 all out in 39.5 overs (Andrew Umeed 65, M.English 26, A.Buam 26; Karamat Ali 5-36, Amad Butt 2-22).
