Lusterless KSE retreats to a 2-month low

In the absence of strong trade triggers the apex bourse retreated to a two-month low here on Thursday.

The benchmark 100-Index of the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) shed 0.08 percent, or 21.57 points to 25,478.93.

This was the index’s lowest point in the last 2 months, while volumes declined to a four-month low as the apex bourse witnessed another lackluster session with range-bound activity.

Faysal Bank Ltd fell 2.1 percent to 11.65 rupees while Maple Leaf Cement Factory Ltd was down 1.03 percent to 27.85 rupees.

Oil prices eased in Asian trade Monday as weak Chinese trade data stoked concerns over demand in the world´s top energy consumer, analysts said.
