Pakistan collapse gives Proteas 4-1 series win
Source: Geo News | 12-11-2013

Pakistan’s dismal performance continued as South Africa won the ODI series of five matches 4-1 here at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Chasing an improbable target of 269, Pakistan collapsed at 151 in 35.3 overs, giving the Protease a big-margin victory by 117 runs.

None of the Pakistan batsmen, except young Sohaib Maqsood (53) and Umar Akmal (30), could resist against the South African bowlers.

It was second consecutive fifty by Sohaib who hit 56 on his debut in the fourth ODI at Abu Dhabi.

For South Africa Wayne Parnell took 3-36 while Jean-Paul Duminy finished with 2-14.

This was third successive win for South Africa who earlier defeated Pakistan by one run at Sharjah, and by 68 and 28 runs at Abu Dhabi whereas Pakistan recorded their only win, by 66 runs, at Dubai.

Earlier, South African skipper AB de Villiers hit a 102-ball 115 studded with ten boundaries and three sixes to lift South Africa to 268-7.

Now both countries will play a series of two Twenty20 Internationals on November 13 and 15 at Dubai.
