Campaign to install biogas plants to meet energy crisis

Pakistan Council of Renewable Energy Technology (PCRET), a subsidiary of Ministry of Science and Technology, has started campaign for creating awareness to install biogas plants in the twin cities.

According to sources, the PCRET authorities in the wake of growing need of fuel gas has kicked off awareness campaign in rural areas where farmers have three to four cows or buffalos to install biogas plants in their houses to fulfil domestic demand. The PCRET DG Khalid Islam said that the department would provide Rs 17,000 subsidy and technical support for biogas plant.
