A deadlock between government and the opposition on appointment of caretaker prime minister still persists.

Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan have still two more days to reach a consensus on the name of the caretaker PM before referring the matter to the parliamentary committee to settle the issue.On the other hand a two-member body of PML-N comprising Ishaq Dar and Raja Zafar Ul Haq met with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman to discuss the appointment of caretaker PM.

During the meeting, Maulana expressed his concerns over the withdrawal of Shakirullah’s name as caretaker PM. He said the PML-N did not take JUI-F in confidence while withdrawing Shakirullah Jan’s name.Maulana demanded to add Shakirullah’s name or else his party will not become part of consultation process for the appointment of caretaker Prime Minister.According to sources, both the parties failed to reach any consensus regarding the issue.
