Environment department is facing shortage of funds but doing its best to save environment and to provide healthy atmosphere to citizens.

This was stated by Sher Alam Mehsud, Secretary Environment, during his visit to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Regional Office. He announced a committee to solve industry related issues. He informed the house that environment department believes in friendly relations between industry and government. Environment Department will assure to take action on solid proves.

He condemned all measures that may cause to hurt the economy sector. Environment Department will recommend to higher authorities to allow duty free import of pollution control equipments, he assured.

Sheikh Abdul Waheed Sandal, Vice President and Regional Chairman FPCCI, welcomed the guest and showed serious concerns about environmental situation and hurting attitude of environment department. Pollution is not affecting only health; it is also damaging exports also because western countries demanded pollution free products but our departments are not serious to solve the key problems, they are acting on temporary policies.

They are issuing notice to industries but not giving the knowledge and necessary equipment to control the pollution. Government is charging heavy duties on import of pollution control equipments. Khawaja Khawar Rashid, Chairman FPCCI Regional Standing Committee on Environment also spoke at this occasion.

and said major problem is unawareness of people about environmental pollutions affects, people take it easy and that is the reason that environmental pollution is increasing day by day.
