The country's foreign exchange reserves have slipped by $156 million to around $13.549 billion as on January 25, 2013. According to State Bank of Pakistan here Thursday,
the foreign exchange reserves held by the central bank declined to $8.654 billion while reserves held by banks stood at about $ 4.895 billion during the week. The amount of remittances from Pakistanis living abroad rose 12.51 per cent to $7.116 billion in the first half, July to December, of the 2012/13 fiscal year, from 6.325 billion dollars in the same period last year.
