Putting deaf ear to the notification of Ogra, the LPG marketing companies, at their sweet will, on Thursday once again jacked up commodity price by Rs10 per kg, reliable sources informed TheNation.
LPG Distributors Association Pakistan Chairman Irfan Khokhar, in a statement, said marketing companies, while taking benefit from court order, have raised the price by Rs 10 per kg. He said after this new raise, prices of domestic and commercial cylinders had been increased by Rs 100 and Rs400 respectively. He said during ongoing month of December this is the fifth time LPG price had witnessed significant increase. He said this fresh hike was against the notification of Ogra, which had fixed the commodity price at Rs125 per kg on December 08.
Further, Irfan Khoakr appealed to chief justice of Pakistan to take notice of this hike and also requested Punjab government to initiate inquiry to benefit the poor consumers during chilling winter season.
