The Jamat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Jamiat Ulma e Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) Monday demanded the deployment of armed forces during polling in Karachi,
During joint press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq, Amir (JI) Mohammad Hussain Mehanti said that the deployment of troops in the megapolis was extremely necessary during elections.
JI leader further said that those parties, which believe in the ideology of Pakistan, were united and demand of ECP to conduct free, fair and transparent elections.
He urged ECP to do whatever it can to protect the citizens.
Going forward he also called into question a ban on mounting banners as part of their electioneering in Defence Housing Authority.
On the occasion, PML-N’s Saleem Zia demanded of the ECP that they be allowed to hold public rallies in various constituencies. Moreover he sought deployment of army not only just outside but also inside all the polling stations in Karachi.
Qari Usman, leader of JUI-F, said the worst law & order situation prevailing in Karachi, made a very strong case for deployment of troops at polling stations.JI leaders Naseem Siddique and Nasrullah Shahjee were also present on the occasion.
