Source: The Nation | 07-03-2013

The four-day train march, brought out by united opposition against bogus voter lists and deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi, reached Rawalpindi Railway Station here on Wednesday.

The marchers, led by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) office-bearers Liaquat Baloch, Dr Miraj-ud-Din Siddiqui, Muhammad Hussain Mehnti, Hafiz Naheem-ur-Rehman, PML-N Provincial General Secretary Saleem Zia, Awami Muslim League (AML) office-bearer Mehfooz Yar Khan, JUP (Noorani) Mustaqeem Noorani, Muslim League-Functional Shahid Soomro and Taraqi Pasand Party leader Gulzar Soomro, was accorded a tumultuous welcome by scores of activists of different parties at the railway station.

The prominent among the receivers were JI Asad Ullah Bhutto, Mian Muhammad Aslam, Nazir Ahmed, JI District Ameer Sajjad Ahmed Abbasi, MNA Malik Shakeel Ahmed Awan and Pir Saeed Ahmed Naqashbandi. While addressing the participants, the speakers said that the train march was brought out by all the opposition parties jointly to condemn chaos in Karachi.

They said that the aim of the march was to purge Karachi, the trade hub of Pakistan, from extortion, target killing and other crimes. They said that the terrorists of MQM held the entire city hostage. They said that the feeble law and order situation in Karachi was affecting the whole country badly.

They demanded of the government to complete the delimitation process as well as to end the bogus voting lists under the supervision of Pakistan Army. The marchers later proceeded towards Islamabad Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
