World's largest Tahrir square on Jan 14
Source: The News | 02-01-2013

Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran leader Tahir-ul-Qadri claimed that the 14th January gathering in Islamabad would be the world’s largest Tahrir square in the capital city, adding 'we want to overthrow the system that is based on injustice'.

Addressing a massive public gathering at Jinnah Ground Azizabad after visiting MQM headquarters ‘90’, Qadri said the journey of revolution, which started from Lahore, had practically begun today.

He said the rally in Islamabad would be completely peaceful. "There would be no use of bullet and violence in this march," he added.Tahirul Qadri said the Parliament of people to be staged in Islamabad on January 14 will decide on the caretaker government in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain invited all parties to join what he called 'a journey of revolution'. "Revolution is coming in Qauid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal’s cities," he added.

He said 'we are gathering under national flag to save the country' and added that this that would not only be the long march of MQM and Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran but of all those who are suppressed.

Altaf Hussain said this journey of revolution would culminate only upon reaching its destiny. He asked the Punjab government to extend fool-proof security to Tahirul Qadri.

The MQM chief said every decision in connection with January 14 long march would be made by Tahir-ul-Qadri but the latter said they would be made after consultations with the former.Altaf urged the military and institutions of national security to put their weight behind this long march instead of halting it.

"No one is there is take notice of people’s miseries. Only those can resolve such issues who have been through such problems," he said, adding those with a golden spoon in their mouth failed to pull out the masses from their plight.
