Bid to smuggle liquor busted in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Police in Peshawar foiled a bid to smuggle liquor in huge quantity but remained unsuccessful in catching the accused, Geo News reported Tuesday.

According to police, riders' squad of police signaled a vehicle to stop for checking in the vicinity of Faqirabad police station, however, the driver did not abide by the order and fled from the checkpoint.

Police chased the car and managed to intercept in Saeedabad area.

Upon checking, 624 bottles of liquor were recovered from the secret sections of the car.

The accused succeeded in escaping from the site.
