Source: Geo News | 03-09-2013

MALAHIDE, Ireland: England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to field first against his former Ireland team-mates in the lone one-day international at Malahide on Tuesday.

Three players made their one-day international debuts for England, with former Ireland seamer Boyd Rankin joined among the newcomers by batsmen Michael Carberry, who played one Test against Bangladesh three years ago, and Gary Ballance.

Ireland gave a one-day international debut to seam bowler Max Sorensen.

England were resting several senior players following their 3-0 Ashes series win, including regular captain Alastair Cook, ahead of the return series in Australia which starts in November.

But three of those omitted from the trip to Ireland -- batsmen Kevin Pietersen, Joe Root and Jonathan Trott -- were due to rejoin he squad for the first of five ODIs against Australia at Headingley on Friday.

Ireland's side included a former England player in Sussex batsman Ed Joyce, with the hosts aiming for a repeat of their celebrated 2011 World Cup defeat of England in Bangalore.

Ireland: William Porterfield (captain), Paul Stirling, Ed Joyce, Niall O'Brien (wkt), Gary Wilson, Kevin O'Brien, John Mooney, Trent Johnston. Max Sorensen, Tim Murtagh, George Dockrell

England: Michael Carberry, Luke Wright, James Taylor, Gary Ballance, Eoin Morgan (captain), Ravi Bopara, Jos Buttler (wkt), Ben Stokes, James Tredwell, Steven Finn, Boyd Rankin

Umpires: Mark Hawthorne (IRL), Ruchira Palliyaguruge (SRI),

TV Umpire: Richard Smith (IRL)
