Khawaja Asif says technical reasons behind Sehr-Iftar power outages

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said though electricity generation has increased by 2500 to 3000 megawatt, demand has also increased in the country.

Talking to Geo News on Sunday, the minister said that the country was still facing 3,000-megawatt power shortfall.

Replying a query, he said that there were some technical reasons behind power outages during Sehr and Iftar.

Asif said that loadshedding was carried out in those areas where people didn’t pay electricity bills.
