Source: Geo News | 19-03-2014

Pakistan defeated New Zealand by six wickets in their warm-up match in the fifth World Twenty20 Cup here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Monday.

Chasing 146, Pakistan completed the victory on a penultimate ball of the match for the loss of three wickets while Kamran retired out.

Skipper Mohammad Hafeez smashed 55 off 39 balls and Kamran Akmal made a 45-ball 52.

Hafeez struck five sixes and three fours in his fifty while Kamran made remarkable comeback with a brilliant half-century.

Earlier, Pakistan bowlers restricted New Zealand to 145 runs for nine wickets in the 20 overs.

However, New Zealand were lifted by their captain Brendon McCullum who made an unbeaten 59 from 45 balls. He smashed four towering sixes and three boundaries.

Pakistan seamers Umar Gul and Mohammad Talha captured three for 16 and two for 22.
