Budget 2013-14: Punjab Assembly session on 17th

LAHORE: Punjab Governor Friday summoned a provincial assembly session for June 17 at 4:30 PM, in which the budget for financial year 2013-14 would be presented, Geo News reported.

The assembly session will be presided by Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal where Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman will present the budget for the next fiscal year.

According to sources, more funds were likely to be allocated for development program, education and health as compared to previous year.

Funds for ‘Metro Bus Service’ for Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Multan were also expected to be allocated in the budget while proposals were likely to be presented to devise a system for agricultural tax.

The budget for year 2013-14 would be approved from provincial cabinet before being presented in the house.
