The chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) was observed in the largest city of Pakistan with full zeal and religious enthusiasm here on Thursday.
Thousands of mourners participated in the central procession, which was taken out from Nishter Park at 1:00pm under tight security measures taken by the law-enforcement agencies. Prior to this, a small procession was also culminated at Nishter Park, which was taken out from Martin Road Imambargah at 9:00am.
The Majlis of the central procession was started at 11:30 am at the ground of Nishter Park; Allama Talib Johri addressed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, he paid tribute to the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions for the sake of Islam and humanity. Terming the country’s rulers and politicians deaf and mute, he said that criminals had become the rulers of the country.
He pointed out that the country has become a jungle where people have no right to live freely and citizens have left on the mercy of the terrorists. The so-called Jihadis do not respect human beings which shows that they are the followers of Satan because Satan was the first being in the history of the universe who dishonoured the first man Hazrat Adam (AS), he said.
He added that Shia Muslims have right to live in the country as per their religious thoughts. He warned the rulers of the country to ensure protection of every citizen or else people encircled them. He said there was no rift between sects of Islam and love for Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) is a criterion to understand the right or wrong of any Muslim.
After the Majlis, the procession taken out from the park which started marching towards the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar. The main procession was started at Nishter Park and passed through Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road, Father Jaminis Road, Mehfil-e-Shah-Khurasan, MA Jinnah Road, Mainsfield Street, Preedy Street, MA Jinnah Road (again), Bolton Market, Bombay Bazar,
Kharadar Nawab Mohabbat Khanji Road, and finally culminated at the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah.A large number of young people were among the participants who attended in big numbers. The huge crowd comprises on women, children and old citizens also. Foolproof security arrangements were taken by the government for the protection of the mourners. The security personnel were deployed at the roof-top on the high-rise buildings on the route of main chehlum procession to monitor the miscreants.
