Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has strongly denied the rumors regarding postponement of election, saying that it would be held in any case.
The prime minister was talking to media during a dinner hosted in honour of parliamentarians by Syed Khurshid Shah, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Chief Whip of PPP.Raja Pervez Ashraf said that future of Pakistan lies in transparent elections.Replying to a question, he said that the consultation has been kicked off for caretaker set up by writing a letter to the opposition leader.
The prime minister also expressed hope that consensus would be built for caretaker government.The dinner was also attended by Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza and parliamentarians belonging to different political parties.Governor Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Engineer Shaukatullah, Maulana Fazal ur Rehma, head of JUI-F, Federal Ministers and leaders from PML-N, MQM, PML-Q and other political parties were also present at the dinner.
