The Chairman of All Pakistan Muslim League, Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf has entered into an electoral alliance with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), sources quoted as saying on Monday.
MQM, the second largest party in Sindh has joined hands with APML of Pervez Musharraf who is returning back on March 24Moreover sources said that, Musharraf will be contesting from NA-250 (Clifton-Defence) and after the electoral alliance MQM will not field any candidate against him instead assuring a strong support for him.
The decision has been attributed to the deliberations of the Rabita Committee due to the efforts of MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain and Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad. The statement told that, MQM will also welcome the ex-general upon his arrival to Pakistan.MQM had been a strong coalition party during the 9-year martial law regime of Musharraf since 1999 till 2008.
After spending around five years in the exile, the general is now all set to return to the country where he may face a slew of challenges ranging from security problems to trials in different courts on different charges.
