Former PM Aziz records testimony to Lal Masjid commission

Former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz recorded his testimony to Lal Masjid commission via video link from London on Monday,



According to details, Shaukat Aziz said that Lal masjid issue had gone beyond the control of civil administration, therefore, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain advised an operation.He said that Ch. Shujaat, Ejaz ul Haq and Tariq Azeem from government were holding dialogues with Lal masjid administration, but after finding no solution the military operation was launched.



When the commission asked if the interior ministry forwarded you any summary, Aziz replied with ‘no’, however, he added that changes were taking place in the operation's plan in accordance with the emerging circumstances.The commission inquired if they asked them to surrender their weapons otherwise they would get killed; Aziz replied that he has no information in this regard because the operation was conducted by the military.
