Hafeez invites GE to invest in Pakistan

Federal Minister for Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh here on Thursday invited the General Electric Company to invest in Pakistan particularly in sectors where it has global expertise like aviation, transport, railways, energy and alternate energy.

 

A delegation led by John Rice, Vice Chairman General Electric Company, called on Federal Minister for Finance and expressed keen interest by General Electric Company for investment in various sectors in Pakistan particularly in supplying locomotives for Pakistan Railway and setting up of a wind energy project while exploring other investment areas as well.

 

The minister informed the visiting delegation that Pakistan offers conducive environment for foreign investment and assured full support and facilitation of the government for investment by General Electric Company in Pakistan.

 

The Vice Chairman General Electric Company expressed his profound gratitude for the government of Pakistan and particularly Finance Minister for providing attractive opportunities for foreign investment in the country.
 

He thanked Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh for his continuous support for private sector business and attracting investment by guiding foreign investors.Rice appreciated the policies of the Finance Ministry in promoting a business friendly environment.
