Justice Jawad S Khwaja, hearing the OGRA implementation case Monday, remarked that the return of former OGRA chief, Tauqir Sadiq, was suffering a delay due to incompetence.
Heading a two-judge bench hearing the OGRA implementation case, Justice Khwaja said some irregularities seem to be going on in the office of Prosecutor General, National Accountability Bureau (NAB).He said, prima facie, the legal requirements for the implementation of arrest warrant for Tauqir Sadiq’s arrest had not been completed.During the hearing the reports on behalf of FIA and Foreign Office were presented before the court.
The judicial assistant, Khwaja Haris told the court that an extradition treaty exists between Pakistan and UAE but the required documentation related to Tauqir Sadiq has still not been completed. Now, one more hearing would be held against Tauqir Sadiq in UAE on April 15, he added.Justice Khilji Arif in his remarks said that an atmosphere is being created in Pakistan to help Tauqir Sadiq ahead of his return.The Supreme Court also sought the file of reference against Tauqir Sadiq from the Accountability Court.Further proceedings in the case will be carried out on April 3.
