Karachi police arrest 47 accused in 24 hours

KARACHI: The Karachi police claimed having arrested 47 accused allegedly involved in murder, robbery, kidnapping, extortion and other crimes during different raids in last 24 hours from various parts of the city.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, Surjani police arrested accused Irshad Ahmed son of Muhammad Jamil involved in murder case. Jackson police arrested three extortionists while New Karachi police nabbed four kidnappers and Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police apprehended two robbers. The teams of other police stations also arrested 23 accused including two absconders.

The press release said 11 persons were killed in the city during last 24 hours. The incidents include two target killings. Two killings took place during matrimonial dispute and seven for unknown reasons.
