Mir Hazar Khan Khoso on Monday took oath as caretaker prime minister of Pakistan to lead the country through its momentous parliamentary election period.
The Election Commission of Pakistan selected Khoso, 84, out of four candidates, two nominated by the recently ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and two by the main opposition Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).Khoso served as the chief justice to the high court in the troubled southwestern province of Balochistan and also temporarily worked as the acting governor of the province.
Pakistan will hold parliamentary election on May 11.Earlier on Sunday after his appointment, Khoso told reporters in Islamabad that the election will be held according to the announced schedule and that fair and free vote is his top priority.“I will try my best to come up to the expectations of people,” he added.
