N not amused by march drama: CM
Source: The Nation | 10-01-2013

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said democracy was restored after a long struggle and sacrifices, but a few imported politicians were now trying to derail the country from its democratic path.

Talking to the assembly members belonging to various districts, Wednesday, the chief minister said the people were fully aware of the nefarious designs and imported agenda of such elements and the masses would never let them succeed.

“Holding of timely general elections is essential for solidarity and security of the country, as any delay can be disastrous. ‘March Drama’ is being enacted to delay the upcoming polls,” the chief minister added.

Shahbaz Sharif said the country was facing serious internal and external challenges, and it could not afford any anarchy. He said the imported elements wanted to create chaos; however, the PML-N would foil the conspiracy against general elections.

Shahbaz Sharif said the country was passing through a critical phase and was confronted with problems like terrorism, loadshedding, unemployment, ignorance and other issues, which could only be solved through general elections.

“Incompetent rulers of Islamabad have resorted to loot and plunder in the country and he has been voicing against the corrupt mafia. Those who suddenly returned to Pakistan after spending six years of luxury life in abroad are talking of change and revolution,” he added.

The CM remarked the imported elements were not for change, but for destroying democracy, but the nation would foil their nefarious plans. He said what sort of revolution was being brought when these elements had looters and thieves in their ranks.

Shahbaz Sharif also lambasted at the federal rulers terming them incompetent who had pushed the country back by 50 years in their five-year rule. He said loot and plunder during that period had been order of the day in the garb of reconciliation.

“Zar Baba Forty Thieves have filled their own pockets, and destroyed the national institutions leaving the people in the lurch of problems. People want to get rid of these thieves and they will bury corruption in general elections through the power of vote,” the CM held.

Shahbaz Sharif said the PML-N was equally popular in all the four provinces whereof its opponents were scared and want to escape the general elections. However, he said, those who were conspiring against democracy would be badly defeated.
