Sources told Online agency that Nawaz directed the specially constituted committee to speed up contacts with nationalist parties in Sindh for seat adjustment and electoral alliance to give a tough time to the PPP in its stronghold. He said the by-polls were a referendum of the PML-N government’s success in Punjab, and the failure of those ruling the centre. He hoped that his party would sweep the general elections. He said PPP and its allies had given nothing to the country except crises.
He said the rulers should prepare themselves for returning the looted money instead of dreaming about another term. If voted to power, the PML-N would protect the interests of the country and work for raising the living standard of the people, he said, adding that the party manifesto was in the last phase of completion.Sharif said his party would take more steps to make the provinces prosperous and peaceful if voted to power. “In light of the 1973 Constitution, the PML-N has already done much to ensure rights of the provinces and the party will not let up its efforts in this regard in future,” said Sharif. Sharif said only peaceful and prosperous provinces could guarantee sovereign, stable and progressing Pakistan. Sharif said as mainstream national party, the PML-N played a very active role in the transfer of powers and to ensure rights to the provinces in light of the unanimously adopted Constitution of 1973.
Now when the 18th Constitutional Amendment stands approved, the PML-N will continue to take steps for the implementation of the amendment in letter and spirit as well as continue to ensure the transfer of powers to the provinces envisaged therein,” he added. He said provinces, as the most vital part of the Federation, must be thriving, peaceful and self-contented which is necessary to keep up sovereignty, stability and prosperity of the country. Addressing members of the committee, Sharif said their experiences, acumen, hard-work and suggestions had achieved for the party such a manifesto which contained everything to lead Pakistan ahead of others and ensure its success in every challenge at the international level.
He said the members and experts who had been attached with the preparation of the manifesto were the best brains of the party. Sharif further said that expression of the people’s desire for supremacy of law and availability of justice could be well-gauged from their unprecedented participation and struggle in the movement for the restoration of judges. He said after the glorious success of that movement, it was now essential that justice should be available to every citizen of the country.
