National Accountability Chairman Admiral (retd) Fashi Bukhari has said that the probe in rental power projects case would remain pending until the inquiry in Faisal Kamran’s death concludes.
In a statement, he said that NAB investigation officers would be provided arms training for their protection. He said any officer facing threats or pressure would be provided protection. Bukhari added that the investigation officer would be disassociated from a case upon his request.The NAB chief said that the department might initiate inquiry into the death of its assistant director if the investigations proved dissatisfactory.
NAB employees on Monday protested the killing of Kamran Faisal, an assistant director who had been investigating the RPPs case and rejected a probe commission comprising former Supreme Court judge Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal to investigate the issue. Besides they demanded the authorities concerned to appoint a sitting judge to investigate the death.
