Pakistan U-16 hockey team opened up its campaign in the 2nd Asia U-16 Cup on a winning note routing China 16-1 in Singapore on Thursday.
Pakistan young side dominated the game with persistent attacking and coordination scoring goals on regular intervals, according to information made available here on Thursday. M Atiq was hero of Pakistan team who burst five goals in his team’s victory while Shan Irshad contributed four, Nohaiz Zahid Malik three while Junaid Kamal, Adeel Latif, Junaid Manzoor and Sikandar Mustafa hit one goal each.
Today (Friday), Pakistan will play two matches, first against China at 7am while second against Japan at 1pm. The matches are being played on a shorter arena with each half of the game is of 12 minutes with two minutes rest with four halves of play.
