KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement holds public referendum across Pakistan today (Thursday) in a bid to seek its supporters’ opinion on whether the party should join the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) led government in Sindh or not. Geo News reporter said Thursday morning, the voting had started in Karachi, Hyderabad and other parts of Sindh where people were seen casting their ballots to help the MQM take its decision. The MQM was formally invited by former interior minister Rehman Malik to join the government during his visit to the Nine-Zero a few days ago. However, MQM chief Altaf Hussain said workers and supporters of the party would take the decision whether to join the government or not. And to seek the public opinion in this regard, the MQM supremo announced a countrywide referendum.
