Setting aside the instructions of the Election Commission of Pakistan, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf is learnt to have appointed Khalid Khokhar as managing director of the Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation.
Sources told TheNation that the premier set aside the orders of the ECP and appointed Khokhar as managing director of the PMDC. Ashraf had made the appointment without any summary from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources, they added. It is learnt the ministry has called applications for the top slot and that Khokar did not apply for it. The ministry has protested the said appointment.
