PM Ashraf says PPP committed to democracy
Source: The News | 12-02-2013

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf Monday said it were the Bhuttos who laid their lives down to bring about democracy in Pakistan and not those who were only blowing their own trumpets to take credit for it.

“Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto are the true martyrs of democracy, while the opportunist are crying at the top of their lungs they are the real champions of the rule of people,”, he said while talking to Pakistani diaspora in UK.He said democracy was their future while free and fair elections destination.

"Apart from being one of the cardinal tenets of democratic process, free, fair and credible elections are central to the consolidation and sustenance of democracy. That's exactly what we are bent upon", said Ashraf.

In an interaction with different delegations of overseas Pakistanis, the Prime Minister said as he belonged to the middle class he was alive to the difficulties they faced now and then.He exhorted them to work with devotion and dedication to build a better image of their country.
