Policy-level talks between Pakistan and International Monetary Fund (IMF) under Post Programme Monitoring would start from tomorrow (Thursday), as technical talks under PPM concluded here on Tuesday.
Pakistan and IMF held technical level talks in Islamabad under Post Programme Monitoring from January 8 that ended on Tuesday. Sources said policy-level dialogue with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would start from Thursday (January 17) in which the proposed next three years economic framework projections would be shared with the IMF authorities.
Officials have informed the Fund about economic situation of the country during technical talks. Pakistan has briefed the Fund on fiscal and monetary policies, revenue collection, expenditures, reforms in public sector entities and power sector reforms during the technical talks. Officials of finance ministry and Federal Board of Revenue briefed the IMF on revenue collection plan for next few months. Officials of ministry of water and power informed the Fund on step taken in reforming the power sector.
