President summons NA, Senate sessions on 21st

President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday, on the advice of Prime Minister, summoned National Assembly session to meet on January 21st at 4 pm.

According to the Parliamentary sources, apart from legislative business, the National Assembly would also discuss the overall political and law and order situation in the country. President Zardari has also summoned the fresh session of the Senate to meet on January 21st at 4 pm in the Parliament House.

The President summoned the session of the Upper House of the Parliament in exercise of powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 54 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The House would discuss the upcoming general elections. Investigation for Fair Trial Bill, 2012 is also on the agenda of the House. The National Assembly has already passed the bill.
