PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Sunday stated that his party has proposed the name of Dr Ishrat Hussain for the slot of caretaker prime minister, expressing the hope that the matter of caretaker PM would be solved by the Parliamentary Committee and would not reach the Election Commission of Pakistan.

The PML-Q president expressed these views while talking to the media at Joseph Colony, Badami Bagh after meeting with the affectees of arson attack.PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Syed and other party leaders were also present on this occasion.

Commenting over the Joseph Colony incident, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain remarked it was not a mere negligence but a well-planned conspiracy. Fixing responsibility on the Punjab government for the episode, the PML-Q chief demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and severe punishment to them. He said minorities enjoy equal rights in Pakistan.

He said whichever caretaker government comes in Punjab should ensure proper rehabilitation and care of the affected people. Replying to a query, he said “We have proposed the name of Hafeez Akhtar Randhawa and Justice (retd) Zahid Hussain for Punjab caretaker chief minister and consulting the PTI leadership regarding our nominees.”
