The Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan (USC) has reduced sugar price by Rs 3 per kg at all outlets across the country as compared the open market in order to provide relief to the people.
The spokesman of the Corporation told APP here on Thursday that sugar price was reduced from Rs 48 per kg and was fixed at Rs 45 per kg as the commodity was being sold at Rs 50-52 per kg in the open market.
The USC has directed its all regional headquarters to implement the decision immediately on the existing stocks of sugar lying with the stores across the country.He further informed that abundant stocks of sugar are available in Utility Stores outlets across the country. The spokesman further said that USC was also preparing a mechanism to bring down the prices of other essential commodities including ghee, cooking oil, flour and pluses of different varieties to give more relief to the people.
He said that the Corporation was striving to provide quality daily use items on affordable rates through USC outlets across the country and planning to further expend its outreach to more areas.
