Turkish Deputy Prime Bekir Bozdag has praised Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his team for completing the Metro Bus Service in 11 months.
“The task is finished on time due to dedication and hard work of Shahbaz and his team over which they deserve heartiest congratulation,” he said while addressing the inaugural ceremony.

He said Shahbaz brought to Pakistan a project which is successfully running all over the world and such projects should be launched in other parts of the country.He said Turkish company Albayrak had invested in Punjab and hoped that Albayrak would be successful in cooperation with the people of Punjab. He said that by increasing the modality of Lahore city through introduction of this, centuries old relations of friendship and affection between Pakistan and Turkey would be cemented.

The Turkish deputy prime minister said Pakistan and Turkish friendship is based on sincerity as both countries have vigorously supported each other in the times of difficulty.He said whenever Pakistan faced any natural calamity, Turkish people came first to help their Pakistani brethren. Similarly, he noted, when there was earthquake in Turkey, Punjab government vigorously supported Turkey. He said that the Turkish people can never forget the cooperation of Muslims of subcontinent during Turkish struggle for independence.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister said that there have been brotherly and friendly relations between Pakistan and Turkey, however, their commercial ties have not been that good. He said that now Turkish investors are making investment in Punjab due to which commercial relations are improving. He wished that Turkish investors make their investment in Pakistan in large numbers while Pakistani businessmen should do business in Turkey.
He said that along with Pakistan and Turkish mutual commercial ties, there should be better economic cooperation between all Islamic countries. He said that today is historic day for Pakistan, especially for people of Punjab as Metro Bus system would brighten the future of Pakistan.

He said that he has come to attend inaugural ceremony of Metro Bus service along with a large delegation to participate in the happiness of Pakistani brethren, for which they have brought a message of love and affection from Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and people of Turkey.

He said “We have to pass the message of Pak Turkish Friendship to the coming generation, as Pakistan and Turkey are geographically separated however the hearts of the people of both countries beat in unison. He said that the people of Pakistan and Turkey would forge further relations of mutual love and affection through collaborative projects like this bus service and other projects for which Turkish companies are making investment.
General Manager of Istanbul Company Ulasim Omer, LDA DG Ahad Cheema and other deginataries also spoke on the occasion.
