A meeting of the Counter Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) working group’s meeting was held on Monday at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
Delegates from the Afghan National Army (Ana), the International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) and Pakistan Army participated in the meeting of the working group.The participants dwelt at length on measures to counter the IED threat faced by the civilian population as well as by security forces on both sides of the Pak-Afghan border.
They reviewed and expressed their satisfaction over the progress made so far since the working group’s establishment as a sub-committee of the tripartite commission.The working group resolved to take forward the work already done through closer cooperation to counter the IED threat.
