Source: Geo News | 26-03-2014

Defending champions West Indies defeated hosts Bangladesh by 73 runs on Tuesday to remain in contention for the semi-finals of the World Twenty20 in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Darren Sammy's men, who needed a win to stay afloat after losing their opening match to India, piled up 171-7 and then bowled out Bangladesh for 98 in the Super-10 group two match.

It was Bangladesh's first match in the Super-10s after qualifying along with the Netherlands from the first round.

India, Australia and Pakistan are the other three teams in the group from which two will advance to the semi-finals.

Brief scores:

West Indies 171-7 in 20 overs (Dwayne Smith 72, Chris Gayle 48, Al Amin Hossain 3-21)

Bangladesh 98 all out in 19.1 overs (Samuel Badree 4-15, Krishmar Santokie 3-17)
