Pakistani legends opener Hanif Mohammad and wicketkeeper batsman Imtiaz Ahmed have been awarded lifetime achievement awards while Pakistan premier spinner stole the show by grabbing four awards in the inaugural ceremony of the Pakistan Cricket Board held here late Saturday night.

CEO ICC Dave Richardson presented awards tp the, who is presently in Pakistan to discuss cricket revival with the PC B. Pakistani premier off spinner Saeed Ajmal won all the bowling honours in the ceremony in which the Pakistan Cricket Board authorities barred mediamen from covering the first-ever annual function.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board had launched a protest with the International Cricket Council over Saeed Ajmal's omission from the ICC World player of year awards list but ICC paid no heed but on Saturday night Ajmal was declared best Pakistani bowler for 2012 in all three formats -- Test, one-day and T20 and was given a special prize for the best bowler of 2012.

Saeed Ajmal said the feelings after being named the best bowler for the year was "beyond description", adding that it took him 16 years to reach this point in his life. Saeed said that he will donate his all money for the construction of Faisalabad Cricket Academy to groom youngsters and polish their talent to enable them play for Pakistan.

Ajmal was adjudged best bowler in all three formats "It is a great honour to get these awards. But I will cherish the best test bowler award since bowling in test matches requires fitness, perseverance and skills," said Ajmal. " I am happy that I was rated as the best out of an attack that is considered second to none."

M Hafeez was named player of the year; Azhar Ali was picked as Test player and left-handed opening batsman Nasir Jamshed was chosen best ODI batsman. Left-arm fast bowler Junaid Khan received the emerging player award. Ahsan Raza received the trophy for the best umpire of the year. Junaid Khan said after receiving award: "This is the most exciting moment of my life as so many young and upcoming stars are making a name for themselves is something that I would always cherish and value".

All winners received US $2,050, while Ajmal received an additional US $15,400 as his special prize. The PCB also rewarded the team which clinched the recent one-day series against India 2-1 and drew the Twenty20 series 1-1.

Each player of the team was awarded US $5,100, while fast bowlers M Irfan, Junaid Khan, Jamshed, Ajmal and Hafeez were given additional US $5,100 for their outstanding performances in the series.

Sana Mir captain Pakistan women team upon receiving the award said: "Personally I am overwhelmed and overjoyed! Woman cricket in Pakistan is already moving upwardly and the reason is the full support of PCB and its chairman, especially in training and coaching facilities ".

M Jamil after receiving Blind cricketer of year award said: "Pakistan's Blind team has done well not just in 2012 but over a number of years. We were always supported by the PCB, yet in the last one year or so, we have never felt so honoured by the PCB. I am really happy."

The awards, which each carried a cash prize of Rs 200,000 ($2,100) and a trophy, were decided by a jury comprising of Intikhab Alam, Iqbal Qasim and veteran journalist Qamar Ahmed.
