His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the presence of Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, received a delegation from City of Chengdu, China’s Wenjiang district, at the Zabeel Palace on Thursday.

The meeting reviewed relations of friendship and cooperation between UAE and China, in general, and between Dubai and Wenjiang district, in particular, in horse sports, training and breedinThe head of the Chinese delegation expressed his desire to activate a strategic partnership his district signed with Meydan Group LLC for developing an international racecourse and for hosting the first ever race meeting in the city of Chengdu.

Shaikh Mohammed said the UAE is no doubt the leader of the world and region in horse racing sports and breeding. “We are proud of that and we have no reservation for bolstering cooperation between Meydan and Chengdu,” Shaikh Mohammed said.He told the Beijing Television (BTV) that Dubai World Cup, the world’s richest horse race, is eliciting overwhelming interest from international media and is receiving tremendous response from horse owners around the world.

He described Meydan racecourse and facilities as an “unparalleled, creative, huge world-class architectural masterpiece, giving races a special taste. “We are proud of this matchless civilisational achievement.”Sheikh Mohammed commended the role of Chinese businessmen and investors in the UAE. He added that they are smart, diligent and are contributing to efforts aimed at boosting relations of investment and cooperation between the two friendly countries..
