Army to welcome all-inclusive polls in Balochistan: Kayani

Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Quetta and held meetings with Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi and caretaker Chief Minister Nawab Ghous Baksh Barozai.

According to an ISPR statement Thursday, the security situation was discussed during these meetings. Kayani reiterated Pakistan Army’s ‘commitment’ to extend all possible assistance to the Election Commission for holding fair and peaceful elections. “The provincial leadership was assured by COAS that the Army will wholeheartedly welcome an all-inclusive elections. The COAS emphasised the need for participation by all political parties in the May elections,” the statement added.
