Political parties should hand over wanted accused in their ranks: Shahid Hayat
Source: Geo News | 09-12-2013

The city police chief, Shahid Hayat Monday said that the political parties co-operating with the law enforcing agencies should hand over the wanted accused in their ranks, but so far it hasn’t happened, he complained.

Responding to several questions in the Geo News office, Shahid Hayat said that the Karachi police during the operation received support from the government, political parties and other organizations, however the political parties were not handing over the wanted accused in their ranks.

When questioned that Karachi citizens still found complaining about the insecurity, the city police chief said that the operation has given desired results, however the situation was not 100 percent perfect and the matter was being looked into from different aspects.

As regards CID staff found involved in different crimes, Shahid Hayat said that the policemen involved in crimes were also arrested and added that action against the CID staff didn’t fall within his jurisdiction, as Sindh IG was the competent authority in this matter.
