Sri Lanka made 19-1 in its second innings to lead Pakistan by 106 runs on the fourth day of the third and final Test at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Sri Lanka gained a first innings lead of 87 runs and extended it to 106 at lunch after bowling out Pakistan for 341 in the first session.

Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath captured five wickets for 125 runs and fast-medium bowler Shaminda Eranga grabbed four for 60, his career-best figures.

Pakistan resumed this morning on 291-6 but lost two quick wickets as Abdul Rehman and Mohammad Talha went out after making two runs.

Pakistan were now 300 for eight before captain Misbah-ul-Haq and tail-ender Junaid Khan tried to make speedy runs.

Misbah scored 63 with three sixes, his 24th Test half-century while Junaid struck two towering sixes in his 16.

Sri Lanka who declared their first innings on 428-9, lost opener Dimuth Karunaratne for 13 in the second innings as pace bowler Talha dismissed him for eight.

At lunch, Kaushal Silva and Kumar Sangakkara were at the crease with six and five, respectively.

Sri Lanka are already leading the three-match series 1-0, winning the second Test in Dubai by nine wickets after the first Test in Abu Dhabi ended in a draw.
