The federal and the provincial governments of Khyber Pukhtunkhaw have yet again failed to meet the one-day deadline given by the Supreme Court yesterday, which expired Wednesday morning as the court resumed the hearing, while the missing persons as ordered were not produced, Geo News reported.
SC three-member bench headed by Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja is hearing the recovery of 35 missing persons case here.
Attorney General Salman Aslam Butt told the court that Additional Secretary Defence would brief the court of the headway made thus far.
Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja refusing to hear the Attorney General said, “We don’t need to hear the defence ministry and added General sahib sit down.”
Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja said today was the 35th hearing, but no headway has been made. The prime minister may indeed give the statement that he was not responsible in this matter and addresswing AG said, “If you have the courage then look straight into the eyes of the missing Yasin’s brother.’
Attorney General told that the federation has sent Additional Secretary Defence for clarification.
Later, the court went on a break.
It may be recalled that yesterday when the court started to dictate the order for the issuance of notices to the PM and the KPK CM and Governor for failing to recover the missing persons and taking actions against those responsible, the Attorney General had sought time for one more day and the court had fixed the deadline for federal and provincial governments to produce missing persons until Wednesday morning at 9.00 A.M.
