Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the people of Pakistan will not allow any adventurist to undermine the democratic system for satisfying his own lust of power.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, he said the nation faced Musharraf’s dictatorship and later the malpractices of a corrupt government and now when there are bright prospects of formation of a public-friendly government, some elements were trying to hinder the process of change through ballet by destroying the whole system.
He said those who offered unconditional support to Musharraf government and went abroad leaving the nation to face the torture of loadshedding, price-hike and unemployment under the present government, had no right to talk about peoples’ problems.
Contrary to this, Shahbaz Sharif said we stood by the people in these difficult times and exposed the corruption of the rulers and challenged them at every forum. He said it was the first government in the history of Pakistan which in order to share the sufferings of the people set up camp offices with its cabinet in the scorching heat of the summer season to protest against loadshedding.
“The change cannot be brought about with statements and speeches but through practical measures and he feels that those who are trying to hinder the process of elections through a so-called revolution are in fact afraid of the thumping success of PML-N,” the CM held.
The chief minister further said people had already suffered a lot at the hands of unelected governments and those trying to derail democracy were criminals of the nation and would never be forgiven by the history.Shahbaz Sharif questioned how a certain group having specific interests and doubtful agenda can hijack the bright future of the country.
