The Pakistan Railways has refused to run special trains from Karachi and Quetta for the participants of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran’s long march, it was learnt. However, in a separate statement, the Railways Police IG ensured tight security for the trains on January 13, 14.
Official sources said the Tehreek had requested the department to run special trains from the two provincial capitals and to attach additional coaches with the passenger trains. “
The Railways has already limited engines in its fleet to meet the requirement of passengers and freight sectors. Running special trains for proposed long march is not possible,” said an official quoting the department’s reply to the TMQ.
