LAHORE: New Punjab cabinet will take oath during a ceremony held at the Governor’s House here on Monday evening.
Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal would administer oath to the cabinet as an acting governor as Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood has relinquished the charge after President Asif Ali Zardari accepted his resignation.
Sources in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz said that size of the new cabinet might be around 15 to 20 ministers.
Rana Sanaulla is likely to take charge of law and local government ministries as well as senior minister. However, Rana Mashood might also become law minister, they said.
They disclosed that Zaeem Qadri might take charge of ministry of education, Mujtaba Shuja ministry of finance, Iqbal Channar ministry of prisons, Khuwaja Salman Rafique for adviser on health affairs, Malik Nadeem Kamran for food and agriculture and Raja Ashfaq for ministry of planning and development. Zakria Shahnawaz and Maqsood Leghari are also expected to be included in the cabinet, the sources said.
