Students paid glowing tributes to the assassinated former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto lamenting that Pakistan lost the great leaders when she was needed the most.
Sharing their views at an event organized by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science & Technology (SZABIST) Islamabad to mark the 5th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, the students said that only Benazir had the vision, competence and leadership qualities to steer Pakistan out of the present grave crisis.
The young speakers said that Benazir Bhutto was obsessed with a dream to make Pakistan a developed and prosperous nation where democracy reigned supreme adding that the brave and courageous lady even sacrificed her life for this cause.
The students were of the opinion that Benazir Bhutto was an iron-willed lady who never gave up despite facing great hardships and tragedies including the hanging of her father Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, mysterious death of her brother Shah Nawaz Bhutto and brutal murder of her second brother Murtaza Bhutto
Female students of the institute said that despite studying and living abroad for a long time, the assassinated former Prime Minister never forgot her culture and social norms and emerged as a true role model for Muslim women.
Benazir Bhutto was committed to the development and emancipation of Pakistani woman and to the protection of their rights, they said. Earlier, Quran Khawani was held to pray for eternal peace of the departed soul. Candles were lit in the memory of Benazir Bhutto.
Director SZABIST Syed Asad Hussain while addressing on the occasion, paid rich tributes to Benazir, said that the brave leader had wanted to usher in an era of educational revolution in Pakistan.To achieve this objective, he added, BB established SZABIST which is now fulfilling her dream and carrying forward her mission of an educated nation.
So great was the attachment of Benazir Bhutto with SZABIST Islamabad campus, as she herself along with experts and relevant officials had made the design and sketch of this Institute in Dubai.
